Zone Designation: BROKEN END

Code: ZN-BE-05
Zone Type: Metallic Ruins
Status: Degrading
Threat: Class III (VOLATILE)
Classification: CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Zone Overview

Where everything comes to end. Broken End is a terminal decayfield where all matter, energy, and information eventually deconstructs into a static void. It is theorized to be the final stage of dimensional entropy, where even anomalies lose their anomalous properties and fade into nothingness.

Hazards

  • Terminal Decay: Matter, energy, and information dissolve at predictable but accelerating rates. Equipment lifespan within the perimeter ranges from four to eleven hours.
  • Identity Drift: Agents have reported losing access to personal memory during prolonged exposure. Pre-deployment cognitive snapshots are required for all clearance tiers.
  • Static Bleed: Audio and visual feeds collapse into white-noise outputs that exhibit non-random patterning under spectral analysis.
  • Dimensional Erosion: The terrain rewrites itself between visits. No two recorded missions have returned to the same Broken End.

Notable Locations

  • The Last Lighthouse
  • Field of Rusted Names
  • Echo Vault 7
  • The Drowned Antenna

Associated Logic Types

Entities recovered from Broken End are classified as "Decayed" or "Null-Signal" — semi-coherent forms exhibiting fading speech patterns, recursive movement loops, and progressive mass loss. Most cannot be sustained outside the zone for more than seventy-two hours before complete dissolution.

Additional Notes

All Bureau equipment recovered from Broken End returns missing serial numbers, manufacturer marks, and at least one structural component. Issuance ledgers list these as "voluntary contributions to the End." No agent has formally objected to this designation.
