Zone Overview

A realm where matter itself collapses into glitching states. Colors, physics, and landscapes melt into ash and static. The Expanse is a manifestation of universal entropy, where all structures decay into chaotic glitchcore patterns.

Hazards

• Cascade Glitch: Visual and structural integrity decays at non-linear rates. No equipment is currently rated for sustained exposure.
• Causal Inversion: Effect routinely precedes cause. Agents have observed their own injuries before sustaining them; outgoing transmissions arrive before being sent.
• Memetic Discharge: Idle thoughts manifest physically within the perimeter. Containment of intrusive ideation is mandatory and enforced.
• Entropic Bleed: Adjacent zones report measurably increased decay rates within four kilometers of the Expanse perimeter.

Bala manifestations from the Expanse classify as "Voids" or "Untyped." They demonstrate behaviors inconsistent with any known biological, mechanical, or memetic framework. Containment is theoretical at best; Bureau policy currently designates the perimeter itself as the containment vessel.

Additional Notes

The Expanse cannot be photographed. All recovered imagery returns blank, scrambled, or altered to depict unrelated locations — frequently ones the agent had not yet visited. Field reports must be hand-written and sealed at the perimeter prior to extraction.
