Zone Designation: GLITCH MAW
Code: ZN-GM-07
Zone Type: Digital Wasteland
Status: Collapsed
Threat: Class V (EXISTENTIAL)
Classification: DO NOT APPROACH
Zone Overview
A corrupted zone where broken electronic signals have infected physical space. Electronic devices fail. The zone is unmapped and forbidden.
The Maw is a sprawling digital wasteland of corrupted data and malfunctioning technology. It is an unstable zone where reality is warped by glitchcore anomalies, creating a chaotic landscape of signal corruption fields and hybrid digital-organic collapse zones. The Maw is a hotspot for instability spikes, where the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds break down, resulting in unpredictable and often dangerous phenomena.
Hazards
- Signal Corruption: All digital equipment fails within minutes of crossing the perimeter. Recovered files retain none of their original integrity.
- Reality Fracture: Spatial geometry inside the Maw is non-Euclidean and inconsistent. GPS, mapping, and dead-reckoning all fail; mission planning relies on physical anchors only.
- Memetic Infection: Prolonged exposure causes thought patterns to mirror recursive code structures. Affected agents are removed from active duty pending decompression.
- Hybrid Decay: Organic matter is gradually replaced by malfunctioning data substrate. Reversible only in early stages; reporting any pixelation of skin or vision is mandatory.
Notable Locations
- The Recursive Atrium
- Tower of Lost Packets
- Null Memory Garden
- The Forgotten Interface
Associated Logic Types
Bala variants from the Maw classify as "Glitched" or "Static" types. They flicker between digital and physical states, often appearing in two or more places simultaneously. Containment requires Faraday isolation chambers and a verified analog observer.
Additional Notes
The Maw is the suspected source of all recursive memetic events catalogued by the Bureau. Active emergence has not been recorded since the ███-Event, but residual transmissions continue to propagate through both physical and consumer-grade digital infrastructure.
