Zone Designation: NULL STAR
Code: ZN-NS-06
Zone Type: Orbital Anomaly
Status: Fractured
Threat: Class IV (LETHAL)
Classification: CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Zone Overview
Null Star is a high-atmospheric spatial rupture resembling deep space, complete with false celestial bodies, corrupted orbital drift, and intermittent zero-gravity void pockets. It does not connect to any known cosmic structure but behaves as if suspended in orbital decay.
The Zone appears black from the outside. Not dark - black. Light bends sharply at its edge. Sound does not travel. The moment of entry is marked by a sudden silence so absolute it becomes pressure.
Inside: debris fields. Shattered modules. Incomplete moons. Stars that flicker like wet neon and then vanish. The deeper you drift, the more the laws of mass, heat, and distance become negotiable.
Notable Locations
- No fixed terrain; navigators rely on tethered anchors and temporal spikes
- Horizon appears inverted; up/down drift over time
- Periodic flickers known as "Null Blinks" temporarily freeze time in the observer
- Stray Bureau satellites orbit the Zone from inside out
Known Hazards
- Stasis Drift: Movement can "pause" unexpectedly mid-action
- False Gravity Wells: Local areas may collapse toward non-existent cores
- Auditory Reversal: Thoughts become audible; speech loops backward
- Personal Reordering: Known to affect chronological cohesion (some agents return with altered childhoods)
Associated Logic Types
Null Star births few Bala - but those it does are wrong, even by Zone standards. Most appear stitched from vacuum logic and orbital waste. Many exhibit looped cognition, recursive behaviors, or flatline thought traces.
Declassified Notes
A floating file capsule was recovered containing the phrase "We left a satellite inside. It's still sending... from before we launched it."
One field drone returned with a full hour of footage. The footage plays back as only the drone's internal components, labeled and diagrammed.
No light source inside Null Star corresponds with the stars visible from outside it.
