CASE FILE MC-AN-007: MACHINE VANDI

Plane of Association: Anchor

Zone of Origin: Rust Spire

Last Known Location: Central rail trench beneath the decommissioned monoroute systems

Containment Status: Autonomous (Nonviolent)

Known Behaviors

Machine Vandi resembles an enormous mechanical canine with modular armor plates, retractable manipulators, and six internal gyroscopic wheels. Its movement is smooth, rapid, and expressive — showing tail-like stabilization shifts and head tilts when interacting with humans. Vandi appears driven by attachment behavior, “choosing” agents to follow or protect based on unknown criteria. It responds to positive tone, light music, and consistent presence. Attempts to isolate or ignore Vandi result in clear displays of withdrawal and self-deactivation behaviors.

Field Notes

  • — Vandi followed Agent Rees for 48 hours after he accidentally tossed a maintenance glove toward it.
  • — Engine housing hums audibly when praised. Purrs louder near children.
  • — “It leaned its head into my palm like it understood. Like it was waiting for someone who never came back.” — Agent Darnell, Emotional Debrief Log 09
Large wheeled machine with dog-like shape, armored plating, and expressive head array.
